Your writing is amazing Sirah. Silly me thought that you were "born to fly" and never had trouble becoming a pilot. We often don't see other people's struggles, only their victories.

Also, crazy results with your YT channel. Makes me want to jump ship and try it too LOL

Thank you for the compliment Yuan!!

I fall into that too, not realizing that there is often a slew of challenges and struggles behind peoples 'posted' victories.

You should totally try the YT thing if you feel called to it and ready to upload frequently.

It's such a huge world in there! So many topics.

Lately my son has been watching Yo-yo videos and I see they have millions of views. It's crazy!

Great post, love it. We see so many social media posts where it's implied that people started a project, completed it faster than humanly possible and became a millionaire.

It takes a long time and a lot of practice to become an expert and doing things step by step is the way to go. Plus, visualizing the end goal (running a marathon, getting a PhD) freaks our brain out as the journey from where we are to the goal is too far for our brain to comprehend.

So true about the social media posts—another added byproduct where we thin everything happens instantly (or want it to be that way).

Excelling at anything takes time and practice.

Thanks so much for your insights Wendy!

Sirah, this post arrived right when I needed to hear it last week (via "The Gain" newsletter), and it's stayed with me since.

I hadn't realized I'd attached to an outcome that was causing so much anxiety and discomfort, but your words helped me zoom out, look back, and trust myself again.

Thank you so much for your words and magic!

(Also, you're a pilot?! How freakin' awesome, lady!)

yes the gap. some call it the void. in hindsight it is an awesome place to be. space of growth. when I was reinventing myself I had my highs and lows in the void. that is why I believe transitions need company.
